Mobile phones from other manufacturers are also compatible. Phones must support the Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2 specification and the Headset 1.1 and/or the Handsfree 1.0 profile in order to be used with the HS-4W.

The Nokia Wireless Headset HS-4W is also compatible with the Nokia Wireless Audio Adapter AD-5B. The Nokia Wireless Audio Adapter enables the use of a wireless headset with compatible Nokia phones with a Pop-Port interface connector, without Bluetooth wireless technology.
